Who’s Robbie?

Robbie’s wine bar is aptly named after Will’s mother Robyn. Who many lovingly called Robbie. Robyn did the best anyone could to raise 3 very young boys into men on her own. While many others at the time were chasing the common ideas of success, she was flying solo and trying to make ends meet to provide for her family through the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s, whatever the cost.

Robyn wasn’t just a woman doing it tough. She was a superhuman, breaking down every barrier in her way to create opportunities for her family. A symbol of strength through adversity. Upon reflection, we believe that she found her very own version of success and peace in doing just that. She was tough, extremely resilient and honest. But was able to remain warm, with an open heart, the most caring nature and a cheeky wit to boot.

While Robyn lost her long battle with cancer a year ago now, Laura and Will thought what better way to ensure that her determination and will to succeed lives on than to name our new nightly neighbourhood hangout after her. Robbie certainly loved a glass or two of red wine in her time, whether it be rugged up in the warmth of her home or enjoyed over laughs with friends.

We hope that in Robbie’s we can create for you, our customers an environment befitting her and what she embodied. A warm, welcoming place, full of chatter that feels like home.
